UFC White House medical suspensions: Ilia Topuria, Alex Pereira both receive 6 month layoffs after losses

The UFC White House card, an action-packed event that produced seven knockouts across seven fights, has resulted in lengthy medical suspensions for multiple fighters, as disclosed by California State Athletic Commission executive director Andy Foster.
Both main event competitors received identical 180-day suspensions. Justin Gaethje, who retained his composure despite his victory, suffered a right wrist injury and left knee damage during his dominant performance against Ilia Topuria, who was stopped between rounds four and five. Gaethje carries a mandatory 45-day suspension alongside his conditional 180-day suspension pending physician clearance for his wrist and an MRI on his left knee.
Topuria faces a 180-day suspension conditional on clearance from an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, plus a mandatory 60-day suspension for receiving a knockout loss. Alex Pereira, knocked out by Ciryl Gane in his heavyweight debut during the co-main event, also drew a 180-day suspension subject to clearance from a maxillofacial CT scan, along with a mandatory 45-day suspension following his knockout loss.
Additional suspensions from the card include: Ciryl Gane (8 days mandatory rest), Sean O'Malley (8 days mandatory rest), Aiemann Zahabi (180-day conditional on maxillofacial clearance, 45 days mandatory for knockout), Josh Hokit (8 days mandatory rest), Derrick Lewis (45 days mandatory for knockout), Mauricio Ruffy (8 days mandatory rest), Michael Chandler (45 days mandatory for knockout), Bo Nickal (4 days mandatory rest), Kyle Daukaus (45 days mandatory for knockout), Diego Lopes (30 days conditional on left eye clearance), and Steve Garcia (180 days conditional on left hand x-ray, 60 days mandatory for knockout).
These suspensions are standard practice following high-impact events and reflect the physical toll absorbed by fighters during intense competition.
