Recently jailed Octagon veteran receives top billing at UFC Belgrade
Daniel Rodriguez is headlining UFC Belgrade, the promotion's inaugural card in Serbia, following a recent stint in a Mexican prison. Scheduled for August 1 at Belgrade Arena, Rodriguez will face Uros Medic in the main event of UFC Fight Night 283. The Las Vegas-based fighter will be returning to action for the first time since July 2025, when he earned a unanimous decision victory over Kevin Holland at UFC 318 to extend his promotional winning streak to three fights. The Belgrade card will also feature a heavyweight matchup between former light heavyweight Johnny Walker and Ante Delija. Rodriguez's unlikely trajectory from incarceration to headlining a major UFC event marks a remarkable comeback story, and the welterweight will aim to maintain his recent winning form against Medic in what should be a significant test at the newly opened European venue.
