Bella Mir stunned in historic DWCS upset as Dana White awards five contracts

Week 3 of Dana White's Contender Series Season 10 delivered the most stunning upset in the show's history when undefeated prospect Bella Mir, daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, suffered a decisive loss at bantamweight. Alex Apodaca (5-1) defeated the heavily favored Mir (4-1) by unanimous decision in the main event on August 25 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, outstriking her on the feet while holding her own in grappling exchanges. Mir had entered as a massive -6000 favorite, marking one of the most lopsided betting lines in DWCS history.

White awarded all five winners on the card UFC contracts, including Apodaca. White revealed his own bias toward Mir, whom he has mentored for four years, and credited analyst Michael Bisping for correctly predicting that Apodaca's deeper experience would be the decisive factor.

Nick Galanti (8-1) opened the card with a devastating middleweight performance, dropping and finishing Carlos Petruzzella (15-2) with ground-and-pound in 35 seconds. Ronald Humphrey (5-0) dominated welterweight opponent Alexis Miranda (9-3) with a well-rounded striking and wrestling display, forcing a first-round submission via rear-naked choke. Cage Warriors interim welterweight champion Sean Clancy Jr. (9-0) showcased technical composure at age 23, grinding down Gary Balletto Jr. (11-4) with vicious elbows for a second-round stoppage. Guilherme Uriel (8-2) surprised White with a surprising guillotine setup, forcing Mario Piazzon (12-2) to tap in 50 seconds.
