Usman Nurmagomedov, Dakota Ditcheva anchor PFL’s return to New York
The Professional Fighters League returns to New York on July 31 with a card at UBS Arena on Long Island headlined by PFL lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov's title defense against Archie Colgan. The main card will also feature PFL flyweight star Dakota Ditcheva in her long-awaited return to action, facing Denise Kielholtz in the co-main event. Nurmagomedov enters the bout riding momentum from a dominant title-winning victory over Paul Hughes and a subsequent successful first defense against Alfie Davis. The Russian lightweight previously held championship gold in Bellator, where he recorded three consecutive title defenses before transitioning to the PFL. At 30 years old, Colgan steps into the title fight with aspirations of dethroning one of the promotion's most decorated recent champions. Ditcheva's comeback after an extended absence adds another layer of intrigue to a card designed to reestablish PFL's presence in a key Northeast market.
