Alex Apodaca reacts to massive upset win over Bella Mir: ‘It’s sick. I think it’s so cool that I pulled it off’

Alex Apodaca pulled off one of the biggest upsets in MMA history on Tuesday night, defeating heavy favorite Bella Mir via unanimous decision in the main event of Contender Series Week 3. Entering as the largest underdog in the show's history, the 32-year-old bantamweight worked over Mir for all 15 minutes, frustrating her grappling and accumulating damage on the feet to secure a UFC contract and praise from CEO Dana White.

Apodaca's dominant performance left even herself in disbelief. "This shit's crazy," she said at her post-fight press conference. "It's sick. I think it's so cool that I pulled it off."
